Cris Urena
Cris Urena is a Dominican Republic born GODDESS! She has this sort of Chanel Iman meets Shingai Shoniwa look, yet all in her own grace. I am smitten by her. I love that there are more and more beautiful colored woman walking the runway, pioneering the music scene and owning/dominating in sports; typically considered for caucasians only. Cris Urena is one of these talented woman that I am sure we will be seeing more of. Just look at how beautiful and versatile she is.

Dolce, Dolce, Dolce…
Dolce&Gabbana FW 2013 is exquisite. I have always been quite fond of these designers and their collections. Yet, this one easily embodies my soul and spirit. The Leopard print, the Italian Renaissance, the red with black and white (perfect color combo), The slight masculine with feminine. Velvet and Tweed, Oh MY! It oozes and exudes the B.F.L.Y Mama Style.
“The Dolce&Gabbana woman is genuine and sensual. Always elegant and unique, her style is unabashed.” -Dolce&Gabbana
“…golden embroideries that recall Baroque mirrors and frames or embroideries made of small points inspired by dining room tapestries; prints of cherubs and angels that appear to have come out of a painting.” -Dolce&Gabbana Press release
I find myself floating through the Italian Riviera during my waking life. These are the moments that I long for, the moments I work towards, my dreams are filled with rich colorful moments such as these.

mr. kate “Days of Ore” lookbook
I am sorry for my lack of updates. I started into my Spring Quarter at school and I am already playing catch up! I feel as though I have been playing catch up with my life since I moved. boy am I looking forward to this weekend! This quarter I only have classes on monday, wednesday and friday and this friday is GOOD FRIDAY, which means no school until Monday and my English professor has a conference Monday, so I will have until 1:30 Monday the 9th to get my apartment and school affair in order! I need to use the time wisely. on another note, I have found some deep needed inspiration from a fellow blogger mr.kate! <—-check her out, she is amazing and so is her line of jewelry, which you can buy online here. I have showcased my favorites from her Days of Ore lookbook, below. My favorite being the “mr.kate vintage logo necklace“, I am saving up to purchase this for my 31st *GOLDEN birthday this May!
well, I hope you like oohing and awing at the pieces and the gorgeous models as much as I did. If so, support another artist in this world and purchase some mr.kate of your own! Till next time (hopefully sooner than later), peace & glitter BFLYsouljah’s…

M(use). I.(nspiration)A.(rtist)
Given M.I.A.’s recent superbowl controversial gesture, I feel it only appropriate to highlight her. She is such an amazing person, she is a philanthropist and humanitarian! She has been nominated for the Brit Award (which only makes sense given she is from the UK), Academy Award, Grammy Award, Mercury Prize, and Alternative Turner Prize. Maya, as in her given name, is an artist of the twentieth century. Her mediums include, yet are not limited to Music, Graffiti, Fashion, Paint, Visual Art, Film, Spoken and Written Word, amongst the few. M.I.A is definitely in my view a woman that she be honored for the many accomplishments she has endured and the ones she shares with her millions of fans.

I know that New Years Eve is 69 days away, yet this year I intend on being in New York City. So I have chosen some dresses that I would love to wear to the many parties I intend on attending. Although some are out of my price range, a girl’s gotta dream. If i could have only one, I would definitely go with the Ava tiered silk-organza and silk-satin gown, which seems to be sold-out. Yet, I’m an optimistic person. What are you planning on doing for New Years Eve? Where are you going to celebrate? Have you decided what your going to wear? Please do share, I would love to get some more ideas.
